5 Steps to Reset Brother Printer Ink Cartridge
Step 1: Remove the top panel from the printer.
Open the printer cover and remove the top panel. You should see two screws holding the top panel in place. Remove them using a Phillips screwdriver. Now lift up the top panel and remove it from the printer.
Step 2: Unscrew the two screws holding the front panel together.
Next, open the side panels of the printer. There will be four screws holding these panels together. Remove them using a Philips screwdriver. Once the panels are removed, you will see the print head assembly. This is where the ink cartridges are located.
Step 3: Lift off the front panel.
To remove the ink cartridges, first, lift up the front panel. Then, slide out the top cover. You will find two ink cartridges inside. Take them out carefully. Now, take out the other two cartridges. Replace them with new ones. Finally, put everything back into place.
Step 4: Locate the ink cartridge holder.
After replacing the ink cartridges, locate the ink cartridge holder. It’s located under the paper tray. Remove the ink cartridge holder. Slide out the paper tray. Lift up the paper tray. You will see the ink cartridge holder. Remove it. Put the old ink cartridges back into the ink cartridge holder. Replace the ink cartridge holder. Put the paper tray back into its original position.
Step 5: Pull out the old ink cartridge.
Now, remove the new ink cartridge. Place it into the ink cartridge holder and push it down firmly. Make sure the ink cartridge fits snugly into the ink cartridge holder before pushing it down.

How to Bypass a Brother “Replace Toner” Message
The printers aren’t just for printing anymore. Today’s printers can connect to the internet, as well as print, scan, and fax. Every small business uses printers from Brother and if the printer is flashing a message saying “Replace Toner” it means the printer is running low on toner. If you’re trying to run a job on the printer, the message can quickly become annoying. To get on with your business, you can use the built-in reset menu on the printer to ignore the “Replace Toner” message.

Here is the easiest way to bypass the “Replace Toner” message.
- Turn on your Brother printer.
- Open the toner access door located at the front of the printer.
- Press the “Clear/Back” button.
- Scroll through the list of toner cartridges until you have located the one that is giving the “Replace Toner” message.
- Press the “1” button to reset the toner cartridge display.
- Press the “Clear/Back” button.
- Close the printer door.
Now after finishing the process, turn off the printer, remove the toner cartridge and insert it again. After keeping the printer off for around 30 minutes, turn on the Printer and you’ll see the annoying message will be gone.
